Renee A. Ellis, M.D. is a compassionate and highly experienced nephrologist who has cared for patients in the Columbia, South Carolina community for more than 15 years before joining Fort Worth Renal Group in 2026. She believes in building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and helping them navigate every stage of kidney health—from early prevention to advanced treatment.
After earning her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Ellis completed her residency and nephrology training at Rush University Medical Center, followed by advanced interventional nephrology work at the University of Miami and specialized training at Emory University. Her extensive background allows her to provide expert care in hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis access, and complex vascular issues.
Dr. Ellis is triple board‑certified, ASDIN‑certified in endovascular procedures, and has published widely in respected nephrology journals. She has also been recognized nationally for her research on hypertension and vascular health.
Dr. Ellis is known for her thoughtful, patient‑centered approach. She has helped develop innovative multidisciplinary programs, including a collaborative LVAD clinic for heart failure patients.
