Dustin Tolar is one of our Nurse Practitioners here at Fort Worth Renal Group. Born and raised in deep East Texas, he began his medical journey in 2010 after earning his bachelor’s degree from the esteemed nursing program at the University of Texas Tyler. With the goal of one day advancing his degree, he spent the next 10 years working his way through the nursing ranks, spending many years in critical care. He then earned his master’s degree from the University of Texas Arlington in 2021, as an Adult and Gerontologic Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Following graduation he participated in a pulmonology and critical care residency program, the first on its kind in the state of Texas, before joining Fort Worth Renal Group.
Dustin believes that nurse practitioners play a pivotal role in medicine, by bridging the gap between the human elements of patient care, and the art and science of modern medicine.
Building strong relationships and providing patient-centered care are his highest priorities.
In his spare time Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, woodworking, live music (70’s and 80’s bands only), and traveling.
