Dr. Michael Babigumira completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, following an Internal Medicine Residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai / Queens Hospital Center. His journey in healthcare started at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda, where he attained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree. He went on to spend several years in Kansas, where he practiced Nephrology, before joining Fort Worth Renal Group; bringing with him a wealth of experience.
Driven by the belief that the patient always comes first, he prioritizes personalized and compassionate care, ensuring each patient’s unique needs are met.
Dr. Babigumira is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN and the American College of Physicians (ACP). His clinical interests in Nephrology include Hypertension, Glomerulonephritis, Chronic Kidney Disease, Nephrolithiasis, Dialysis, and Transplantation.
He grew up in a medical household, drawing inspiration from his father and brothers, also physicians, to pursue his career in medicine. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending quality time with family, exploring new destinations through travel, reading, watching sports and going to the movies. He is a lifelong Arsenal fan.
